On a whim I stopped in at a small town thrift store to check out if there might be some diecast cars for sale. After searching the shelves for a bit and coming up empty, I asked another shopper if she had seen any cars. She said there is a box of them at the end of another shelving unit. Here I discovered a fairly large plastic container with a securely taped lid in place and marked twenty dollars. The contents weren't distinguishable, so I knew it was a crap shoot as to what the vehicles were and their condition. In retrospect, what apparently happened is someone's collection was donated to the store intact, and the store merely marked what they thought it was worth after taping the lid shut. Total contents numbered 167 vehicles! Most are from the mid 90s with some before that time. Most are Hot Wheels. The Hot Wheels white Kenworth tractor truck just might be a "Moving On" version, and quite sought after. In addition, according to some data base valuations, one car is appaised at $15. So this 'instant collection' turned out to be a literal treasure trove.
Thanks for looking...
