At the recent Convention, Mattel had one of these in the package to show around.

Those look sweet. Finally- race cars with race car graphics that look good.
Are the co-molded wheels just for better styling or do they actually make the cars go faster? |

What is the differance between the co-molds and the FTE wheels?

JJ, I assume you mean what's the performance difference between co-molds and the FTE wheels.
The actual FTE wheel design is actually called "Open Hole 5 Spoke (OH5sp)". I doubt that the design of the wheel has anything to do with performance. It has more to do with the true FTE's using nickel-plated axles. That's why I rarely correct people anymore. I gave up. FTE wheels are the OH5sp with Nickle-Plated Axles. Just because it has OH5sp doesn't mean that it is FTE. |

so, there's a difference between gold oh5sp and fte. That sure is confusing but it explains the difference in how long the wheels spin when you spin them
by hand.

Yep, that's what i meant. I forgot about them being nickle plated. Thanks!

You're welcome JJ.
Kevin, yes, that's why the wheels spin longer. I think that they call the color 'copper' on the FTE's. If you held a gold one side-by-side you would see the difference. Actually, I should check the this year's FTE's against the originals to see if they are using the copper color though. |

MSRP is going to be $1.99! Sure, they are glorified mainlines but they looked great!
