Today at Wallymart I ventured into their closeout section and found a number of Clover Cars, Summer Racin' and Egg-Clusive cars. After looking up these on
the South Texas Diecast Collectors site, I learned that both the Summer Racin' and the Clover Cars are Wal-Mart Exclusives.
In the realm of Hot Wheels collecting, how do these two exclusive series rate? Is there much interest in these series? And will they ever be eagerly sought after?
I was able to get the complete set of seven cars in the Clover Cars series, but only five out of the eight in the Summer Racin' series.
Which leads me to ask this question, are the 2009 Egg-Clusives, which I was able to get all eight of the set, more attractive as a collectible item to collectors than the Wal-Mart Exclusives? Are Egg-Clusives more desirable?
Or better yet, is there anything out of the ordinary about any of these three series? And are the Wal-Mart Exclusives merely promotional marketing tools for Wal-Mart?
By the way, even though these were in the closeout section, they were all marked $1.97 which, if I'm not mistaken, was their original retail price. Are they worth this?
Thanks!
