I hate to be the one that points this out but...Hot Wheels has promos where if you buy 20 of their mainlines at $.99 ea and then pay $3 shipping (for a total of $22+) you can get a very special mainline with...wait for it...Real Rubber Wheels!! imageOh but you can only get your 20 from TRU or from K-mart (except the K-mart impaired image ) and you have to send us the cardboard because we don't trust you, and we don't care about collectors who like to keep their cars carded (I'm not a cardboard fan but I sympathize with those that are). So it's a few bucks more for the cars, JL cost more than HW anyway. $2 more for shipping, yeah I can see that, JL are a little beefier than HW. Also the JL promo is from any retailer, and the order form seems to suggest online retailers (except auction sites) qualify. And you don't have to mail any cardboard yay!

If you look back at the November 2007 Issue of The Bolt from JL, you will find a mail in promo for an "Exclusive" Lightning Rod if you bought 10! count them 10! JL singles from TRU (plus S+H of course) that's over $50 bucks!! Glad to see JL has learned it's lesson image...but wait......

The "TRU Exclusive" back in November was...a 1968 Shelby GT-500 Mustang Lightning Rod with Cherry Chrome finish...uhm its the SAME CAR! image

Thanks JL, for stripping the word exclusive of it's last bit of meaning, and for pawning off your past marketing mistakes on new JL customers.image

Mmmm, cherry chrome finish and clear wheels image
