If Learning Curve had let it be known on the message boards that these 12 packs were available, do you not think that there might have been the "slightest" chance they might have sold them?

At first I was upset that RC2 did not try to sell the cars as you suggested. Then I got to thinking. Some of these cars that went up to Canada were offered to us for $12.00/case after Lightningfest last year. It was common knowledge on the boards as everyone was talking about it. Again a few months later RC2 offered cases of cars for people who still had time left on their JL Club membership. Yet some of these same cases were sent up to Canada meaning that not all were sold. So RC2 is faced with a dilemma. See if Wal Mart here in the U.S. will buy the old stock or dump it somewhere else. They offer it to Wal Mart here then Wal Mart might be so inclined to not buy any of the newer JL product. Then you guys would really be bitching that all that is in the stores is the old cheap JL stuff and nothing new. So RC2 decides to sell the stuff, probably the whole bulk just to get rid of it to Wal Mart of Canada. This clears out the old inventory, allows them to focus on new stuff and maybe pick up some new business from people in Canada. It makes sense from a business point of view.
Look at it this way. If you were going to sell your diecast collection wouldn't you rather sell it as a complete set instead of seperately and risk nobody wanting the crappy stuff you have? That is basically what I bet RC2 did.
