"I think while far less produced there are more White Lightnings getting to the true collector then there are Treasure Hunts rung up at the register by HW fans and not scalpers and vultures trying to flip a quisk buck."

Hi Eric:) ,
How do you know this? Only HW guys are out for a quick buck?
Have you checked eBay on any given day to see how many WL's (and TH's) are listed? I have seen more than my fair share of folks racing to the diecast isle at the store opening grabbing both TH's, WL's and (Green Machines), action figures, Beanie Babies etc.

Do you suppose they only keep the WL's because they (the WL collector) are "true collectors"?

This somwewhat specious claim I hear over and over (esp on other JL boards) about what the "true" collector" really is - only so long as what you are collecting is for your own collection and is not a Hot Wheel(lest you be labled the infernal "Mattel" scalper) than what a "true collector" will make.

Bah humbug.

Because WL collectors must wear halos?:lol

Not buying. Outside of millionaires with bottomless bank accounts who can buy anything they wish for any price or perhaps altruistic monks who collect diecast for the needy, the rest of us are all guilty of scalping - to some degree. And it doesn't matter a bit what brand you scalp or what you scalp for (to fund your collection or for greed). It is still scalping.:)
