Peter - When all is said and done, I would venture fully loaded that most dealers - not retailers - are making around $.75 per car.

I will say that I think this post on Mark's behalf was irresponsible, inaccurate and incomplete in providing the information - just proved to build more strife. I can't imagine the mostivation here.

Further, there are other manufacturers that are not even close to that posted price.....

Some requirements:
Business license
Brick-n-Mortar
Tenure in the business/industry
Customer base numbers
Established Revenue Numbers
Sales restrictions
Warehouse Capabilities
Dollar Value Comitments
Promotional Ability

All of these have dollars attached that would essentially come from that mark-up and realistically add to the product costs.

The BIG box retails - I do not know the requirements for. I would guess minimal.
