The paint is rattle can all the way. Primer, base coat, color, clear lacquer, and a final catalyzed clear top coat. Plenty of wet sanding up to the color coat then I use 000 or 0000 steel wool from the clear lacquer coats on. The final catalyzed clear goes on in 3 or 4 coats in ascending levels from a tac coat to a final wet coat with 10 to 30 minutes in between. The final coat is not touched; no buffing or polishing. I alone am responsible for polluting the air in California as all of my paint work is done outside.
