It took quite some time to get some new product in back in early spring from Johnny Lightning. When it did arrive the price immeadeately went up to 2.79. I didn't buy any. I could not see any improvement to warrant a price increase. Most of that shipment is still hanging on the pegs. I saw the 3.47 price point today. You gotta be kidding......maybe WalMart feels raising the price gives J/L the opportunity to stay in the mix. I know that 1/24 items from J/L have been discontinued in our store. There is not any shelf markings left for them.

Yes, M2 continues to have good success. In our store it has slowed a little bit but we are not a high income community. Our county is 2nd poorest in Oklahoma. Plus it disappoints me that we don't get the top end items like Haulers and 1/24 scale. I was in the "SUPER" Wally the next county over today. A week ago they had 5 1/24 M2's, they now have 2; they had 7 of the truck/trailers last week but they now have 2.

I decided to do a comparison with as little bias as possible on pricing betweens lines in the diecast isle at that "SUPER".
They starting price point for single packaged cars was the Maisto at 87 cents. The comparison to the next price point was with HotWheels. It still is really no contest. Mattel still has it going on with Hot Wheels.

So next it had to be the next price catagory. Wait a minute...you now have to jump to the 3.00 price range. Its a no contest again for Mattel. Their HOT ONES put J/L to shame. However, the M2 Drivers compare very well and the boxed presentation doesn't hurt. There are some JADA items still in that price range but I would still buy Hot Ones and some M2.

The last comparison would have to be at 4.50 - 6.00. Mattels' Masters and new General Mills/Post cars and trucks are cool but as a matter of taste I'm not in the fold. I find it hard paying for graphics as opposed to construction. I noticed that there still was plenty of both on the pegs. M2's multi piece castings and quality display boxed items have sold through at a much better pace. It seems that the M2 items are gone quicker than the Mattel 'series' cars/truckis. I would consider M2 over the many 100% HW singles I bought at 7.99 to 9.95
