John mentioned that pink was harder to find as well as castings such as the Snake,Mongoose, and Mustang. I would guess that they were harder to find because people were buying them up rather than them being short produced. Is this a fair assessment?

You are CORRECT Sir, YES!

The fact that the first Tomart's came out about the same time as the 25th Anniversary cars drove the "pink" market....

How vibrant was the "secondary market" exist during the 25th Anniversary releases? In other words, were people buying up multiples for their own collection or for trading?

Since the cars were released in waves, it took a while to determine all that was out there and still to be released. Once that was established, those who wanted them tried to fill in the gaps. The Nomads went the quickest...

Were scalpers/dealers buying up bunches? I do see them from time to time, more prevalently at Conventions.

Well, SOMEONE sure was gobbling up the Nomads....same with the enamel yellow Snake. The S'Cool Bus never hung for long either.....

So these Vintage BP's were TRU Exclusives?

25th Anniversary and Vintage II were TRU exclusives...The Vintage could be found elsewhere, especially Wal-Mart....

What was the retail price of the singles?

TRU's price was $1.99....Wal-Mart slightly less.....

Any comments about racing capabilities?

From experience, not the fastest but not the slowest either. Something above average tho....
