I am almost certain that it hasn't been dyed or painted. The blue looking wheels must be a reflection of the body color of the car or something because in real life, they are clear chrome. and the whole rest of the car has no signs of any tinting at all i.e. the chassis, front grill or tail light area. Plus, the siver car from years ago did not has blue glass.... That is the kicker Anyway, I took a couple of other pics of the chassis and the engine area. notice the front rivet is the body color, just like all other cars. Pretty normal looking. and the under the hood is painted in the very same manner as all the other Camaros. Even the overspray on the engine is the simular to some of the other Camaros as well. Plus, when I look way inside under the car, everything is blue i.e. fender wells etc. So all these thing just look to normal and simular to other camaros. The other thing is that the guy I bought this car from (for a dollar by the way) had a whole bunch of cars that were his sons cars. Some were played with condition and some survived hard times. He wasn't into painting cars of cstomizing etc., they were just his little sons cars.
My guess is that it may have come from some obcure play set or something like that. I seem to remember that Target used to package hotwheels in generic packaging and stocked them in the todler section of the toy dept. I have seen some pretty unusual cars in those items. Sometimes they were a multicar pack and sometimes they were play sets. I am thinking maybe that is an example of some obsure little know set.
Any thoughts?

Well, I guess it's a dye job then. I am still amazed how authentic it looks though. I can see no evidence of anything irregular at all. It absolutely looks like it came from Mattel this way.
Maybe someone can tell me what to look for as evidence that it was in fact dyed.
So far, I can say that there is absolutely nothing on the chrome, wheels, interior or any of the bare metal parts in the way of blue dye.
Another interesting fact is that, if it was dyed, we all agree that it would had to be the silver car from the 5 car pack from 97ish. When I compare that car with this one, the chassis on the silver car looks sort of gliddery almost like in has metalic in it. The chassis on the blue car is just the normal bare metal.
So if anyone can tell me what to look for to prove that it was dyed, that would be great.
How would the dye effect the red hotwheels logo on the rear quarter panel?
